Built for clarity, not confusion

GLP-1 medications work by building up in your system over time. Our calculator simulates that process so you can see how your dose accumulates week by week—and what a realistic weight trajectory might look like.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for GLP-1 medications to work?

GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic and Mounjaro build up in your body over several weeks. Most people notice reduced appetite within 1–2 weeks, but meaningful weight loss typically begins after 4–8 weeks as you titrate to a maintenance dose. Our calculator shows how the drug accumulates week by week so you can see when peak levels are reached.

What is the typical Ozempic or Mounjaro dosage schedule?

Ozempic (semaglutide) usually starts at 0.25 mg weekly for 4 weeks, then increases to 0.5 mg, and often to 1 mg or 2 mg. Mounjaro (tirzepatide) starts at 2.5 mg weekly and escalates to 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, or 15 mg. These are typical schedules from prescribing information; your doctor may use a different plan. Our calculator lets you enter your current dose and simulates how it accumulates in your body over your chosen timeframe.

How much weight can I expect to lose on GLP-1 medications?

Clinical trials show average weight loss of about 15–20% of body weight over 1–2 years with GLP-1 agonists at higher doses. Week-to-week, many people lose roughly 0.5–1% of body weight per week during active titration. Our projection uses a conservative model—results vary by individual, diet, and exercise.
